Personally, I watched the men’s gold medal game and wasn’t very impressed by the men’s team. I thought the Canadians were better coached, but we were more athletic and experienced.

I have no idea why the USA insisted on playing the entire game in a double post that completely crowded the cage and took away all the shooting angles.

The Canadian center is good. He gave the US problems throughout the game both as a scoring threat and by drawing exclusions.

Anyone get a chance to watch any games or have any thoughts on the results?

Yes I was able to watch some of them and it’s tough to compare because the age being U19 at this tourney and this is really our U18 team for Worlds competing, so I’d imagine if we were really putting together our top U19 players we might have a very different outcome here. With that being said, there is some exceptional talent in Bode Brinkema and Ben Forer on the perimeter. Tyler Anderson is a force in the middle too and could be one of the best left handed centers we have seen in a while.

Similar with the women’s side this was our U16 team competing so even younger on that side, but they did have 4 excellent games and had the opportunity to win all of them.

You are correct and I should have noted that both these teams did not represent the most loaded team the US can field at this level. Usawp often sends a slightly younger team to these events to get players international experience and I think it’s excellent.

I’m not sure what player it was because I didn’t see any numbered roster, but the player wearing cap 10 on the US squad really stood out a few times for his size and skill.

Yes number 10 was Tyler Anderson from JSerra who is a rising junior left handed center. Very impressive!
