2025 SoCal Futures

Has anyone seen the schedule/pools for weekend 1?

Super Finals dates have been posted for June 2025 but no brackets or divisions have been posted yet. Should be up within the next week if consistent with last year’s postings.

Agreed. The first weekend is in two weeks.

The organizers typically aren’t super early with their schedules. In checking the file date from last year’s schedule, it was created January 8.

Do you have the sheet for NorCal futures?

I haven’t seen it yet, but am keeping my eyes out for it and will post if someone doesn’t beat me to it.

Do they post rosters publicly for Futures in SoCal?

I don’t believe the rosters are published from what I can tell.

I don’t think rosters are posted until super finals

Anyone watched the first week of futures?

I watched most of the games at Westlake HS. The best game of the weekend was La Jolla United v. Beast Boys with LJU playing their backup goalie the entire game. Beast boys jumped out to an early lead. LJU fought back and was up 7-5 at halftime. 8-8 at the end of the 3rd. Beast Boys up 11-12 LJU with the ball 20 seconds left and shooter lost the handle on the ball. 12-11 Final Beast Boys. All weekend gripping the balls was a huge problem. Maybe get some new balls for crossover weekend. :man_facepalming:

Does anyone have a finalized Beast Boys roster/see how they played? I am assuming the USC commits are dominating.

They posted the roster on their Insta page.

What I saw was several teams with few or no seniors. Too early to tell if that will remain the case. If the beast boys don’t dominate should they be embarrassed?

Oxnard pool. No real surprises with Del Mar, Newport and Trojan. Vanguard looked good with what appears to be a seniors team (Beast Light). Not sure I’ve seen LA Premier go 0-4 in a while. Rebuilding year.

Noticed a schedule format change. Crossovers happen prior to weekend 2.

Yes they will be and should be… I watched the Southcoast game. the Beast boys played well but overly confident. lots of good ball movement and strong counter offence against a lesser skilled team. However, very heavy handed on the other end of the pool. Lots of exclusions and South coast had trouble converting. I don’t see them beating everyone with that play style. Being that they have kids from NorCal, central cal and SoCal I don’t see how they will ever practice as a team, other than academy training…

Hmmm… Interesting comment. There are a lot of other talented players on that roster besides the USC commits.
