Some coaches like emphasis to be on team, not individual. I’ve seen the list for our program (distributed by coach via email into advance of our banquet this week) and there are 3 teams for CIF SS Open.
This is what a representative from the CIF-SS just wrote…
“We only post on our website and social media outlets 1st team. If it’s not from the CIF website then it’s not from CIF. There is only 1st team. The specific sports committees may have 2nd and 3rd teams but our office is not shared that. Only kids that get awarded are 1st team.”
So, there must be a committee (unaffiliated with CIF) that handles the 2nd and 3rd teams. In any case, it’s very strange how things are being handled so erratically and inconssistently across all sections and specifically the Southern Section Open Division.
Any honorable mentions included for the NCS Open Division?
There were only 4 teams in NCS open. There were 16 teams in D1 and 16 teams in D2.
The above showed all of the selections - 2 teams in open and 3 teams in D1 and 3 in D2.

Are these published anywhere “Official”? Is there a way for the players to get certificates?
I’m sure certificates are zone/section specific. In SS you can get a certificate if you go to the banquet.
Thanks for updating these lists.
Will there also be a girls’ All-Norcal selection list?
Also, are any of these lists published anywhere “official”? They don’t seem to be available on the CIF sectional websites.
Its hard to explain this but NCS doesn’t recognize or promote NCS teams. This is done with the help of all the coaches in NCS. The process for all NCS was different this year than in years past. Before (up until last year) it would just be an all Norcal list. The NCS teams by division this year were done to get more representation and honor all the teams in NCS not just a select few. I suggested that we do this after being involved in the SS for so long.
