USA Women's Senior National Team 2025

Does anyone know if the Europeans brought their top teams? Is this young team losing to seasoned veterans or equivalent teams full of young pipeline players?

A week or so again I looked at rosters for some of what I expected to the be the top teams–Spain, Hungary, Netherlands, IIRC. The US team was significantly younger. Those rosters are on the FINA website at a link I provided above somewhere, but the last time I went there I could no longer sort by team to get a full roster with birthdates.

It is a mix , most teams brought a handful of their next gen. athletes. USA roster is on the younger side with some experienced and some very young (Flynn 16, Raisin 16, Ryan 15), youngest in the tournament.
USA and Israel with the youngest average age of about 19.
You can find the players’s when you click on the link of any of the games

Thanks for the link. Looks like that Italian team is quite a bit older.

Similar 3rd quarter collapse in today’s US-Hungary game. US up 5-4 at halftime and Hungary goes ahead with 4 unanswered goals in the third. Not sure this means much other than a young team that has not spent much time playing together.

The loss places the US 3rd in group 2 and 7th overall. Only the top 6 advance to the FINA World Cup Superfinal 11-13 April 2025.

This is the first time the US women haven’t qualified since at least 1997. The US won the last four (2023, 2018, 2014, 2010).
