National League 2025

I think we all appreciate the work the clubs are doing to market themselves and the league, but it does make me wonder why it has to be done that way. Where is USAWP in all this? Why aren’t they promoting their own league? Why is there only an “unofficial” Instagram?

I am guessing the U20 team games are exhibitions and don’t count towards points.

Just saw this from USAWP –

Junior Pipeline Team Games in National League
To assist the U.S. Junior Pipeline Team in preparing for the 2025 U20 Junior World Championships, all games that include the USA Pipeline team will be played with the updated WA rules which include:
Possession time : 25 seconds
Shot clock reset : 15 seconds
Exclusion Time: 15 seconds

For all other National League games, the standard current rules will apply:
Possession time : 30 seconds
Shot clock reset : 20 seconds
Exclusion Time : 20 seconds

Agree and the National League page on the USA WP site is not useful.

If the clubs are the ones marketing it and doing all the groundwork… it kinda sounds like the clubs should run the league. I think that actually creates an environment for a TRUE professional league. Channel Cats and LAAC have really upped what it means to be a men’s team with all of their branding and promoting. And I think others will follow… Maybe “professional” water polo in United States could be exciting! @WPWednesday 500+ at a National League game would be crazy. See if it can actually happen.

Spread the word! Rosters are available on the schedule link below:

40 total goals in game one. A goal every 48 seconds.

I don’t mind paying a little if it helps express interest in a professional league in the USA.

Similar issues to the Olympics though. It’s frustrating to miss the counter attack exclusion while the camera is focused on a goalie just holding the ball.

Yeah the camera could definitely use some work. I don’t think anyone needs the tight shots that follow the ball. Just put the majority of players in frame and let us watch the action.

Maybe play in pool on other side of Wollete / better lighting and scoreboard would help.

Hopefully better in day

sorry overnght is not an ideal stream, camera work is cringe. Who wants to watch the goalie pass the ball when everyone is in the front court? NO app for smart TV so you have to stream from a device. cant click on anything… full screen square does nothing. just some constructive critique, and you have to convince people to pay 10 bucks a month to only watch water polo. ESPN+ is lightyears ahead and comes with some other stream subscriptions.

Lots of players uncharacteristically dropping the ball randomly. Not a great look for Mikasa.

Agreed. That new ball they are using is awful.

Went to the CC LAAC game tonight. Not 500 people, but a few hundred! Great improvement for NL and a fantastic game. Hoping for more of this! Will be at the next “game of the week”.

Heard that the balls were extremely overinflated compared to how they are internationally. Before this tournament heard mainly good things about it.

I would love to see some experiment with drone angles like the Ccats did here

Swim offs, 6-5 , lots of cool views

As far as I know drones are not allowed in ncaa or high school so let’s try it here !

Caught some in person and streaming. NL doing a great job putting the pieces in place.

Overnight does a great job imo, happy to pay the $10/mo for the college m/w and now the NL

I played in NL over the weekend at woollett. The balls were terrible. They felt like someone had rubbed sunscreen all over them not to mention they were very overinflated causing a ton of mishandles and slips, including a 5m bobble in the USC v. CC game (might have been kicked by a CC player though). Kap 7 all the way.
