Coach Loughran announces retirement following a successful LMU water polo tenure. Who is next in line?

This will be interesting. Who would not want to work at a private school with a great facility, right near the beach in LA? I could see many top coaches licking their chops.

Apply here :).

Is there any credible info out there re: Head Coach Applicants for the LMU job?

I have heard from a source of two, one from California and one from the east coast, both D1 schools. I am hesitant to name names in case those coaches are trying to keep it on the down low. That along with many top assistant coaches, if not every assistant coach. Interviews are happening now. .

Can anyone provide insight into how attractive the LMU position is (infrastructure, university support, salary, etc)?

The facility is great, not sure about the rest. I know an assistant coaches make almost double of what UC’s pay. I would guess 125-200k for the head coach? I would think David the Associate Head coach has a good chance at getting the position since he recruited most the younger kids on the team. Most the time, once promoted to Associate Head Coach from Assistant Coach you are considered a lock once the Head coach is done. Merrill Moses is the most recent example of that. I have heard the decision will be made very soon.

Looks like it was a formality job posting.

Carrasco.

I spent a little time around the team and am not surprised by this. He was running the practices I attended. Personally, I thought he was an impressive young coach and think this could be a very good hire for LMU.

It looks like Associate Head Coach David Carrasco is the the new Head Coach. Congrats to him.

Over the weekend I saw a post from LMU looking for a new assistant coach, starting pay was around 66-144K per year. Not a bad gig.
