On the spreadsheet I see 12 class of 2026 committed. I am sure there are a couple more that haven’t made it to the sheet. For those that have followed recruiting for several years, do commitments seem to be happening a bit earlier this year? Or is it about the same? Anecdotally I don’t recall seeing many before late summer last year but have no data to back that up.

It seems there are fewer schools but doesn’t seem too far off. USC was active early after losing Ryder and Bode the year prior. I’m not sure any of the early guys got scholarships (based on the instagram posts discussed elsewhere). Apparently, Navy is more active (no roster caps) but that just could be more active announcements. I’m not sure how people get into Navy and if these commitments have gone through whatever process is required.

Just noticed 9/4 NorCal v SoCal HS at this point last year. Meaningless but interesting

I’m know for certain scholarships were involved in the early group. Which makes sense this early in the process.

Jack Pointner (Buena HS/Channel Islands WPC) to the Navy…great pickup for the Navy. Pointer is one of the more unique talents in the country—potent utility-type with a nice upside.

2026 Ivan Khramtsov (Canada Junior Team/Channel Islands WPC) is committed to Pepperdine. It happened about in 2025, but I don’t see it in this thread. He is a powerful center who has improved his overall skill set and played very well at Coastal Zone Quals. He was also dominant at the 17u Pan American Games where Canada defeated Brazil for Gold.

This is another strong recruit for Navy. My kid has been playing against his teams (Dela Salle and Diablo) for years and he is a fast, smart attacker who is good on both sides of the ball.

Potential upside to roster limits will be that schools outside of the top tier can build stronger classes than in years past. Which is what Navy, CBU and even UCI seems to be doing locking up early 2026 commitments.

Agree with this. Navy has a lot to offer, beyond everyone being on full scholarship. UCI had some very early nice commits as well as CBU. Some programs that may have had to wait in years past may find themselves able to get athletes sooner. I know the roster limits are concerning. I wonder how much of this is changing the recruiting timelines.

Isn’t there a roster limit at UCI? What schools opt out and will not adhere to the 24 limit?

There is another thread dedicated to roster limits by school etc. that I think speaks to that in a lot of detail.

Jonas Ransford, JSerra and Mission, Harvard. In my opinion, the top goalie in the Class of 2026.
