Seeding is out : Link
Thanks for sharing. Curious how the seeding worked on that. Looking at the 18u boys, Brackets “A” and “B” are stacked from top to bottom. The other brackets appear to have have a more typical distribution. In any event, looking forward to a great tournament. Feels like it’s been a while.
This year, Futures is adopting a format similar to World Aquatics. On the first day, the top 8 seeded teams will compete against each other, rather than playing lower-seeded teams as is typical in Junior Olympics. On the second day, a crossover mechanism will allow top-performing teams outside the top 8 to challenge the lower half of the top 8 seeds for a spot in the quarterfinals or semifinals. This format is designed to reduce early mismatches between top and low-seeded teams and promote more competitive play throughout the tournament
Kudos to futures for the finals scheduling this year. Great to see more competitive games while giving all teams in the division a shot at winning. Making the “regular” season more meaningful is an added bonus.
