Next time someone brings up height and polo remind them the 2025 Cutino winners actual heights were 5’11” and 5’4”!

Larsen and Woodhead are the only ones I actually believe are 6 foot 5 and above. Some of those players have to be listed 3+ inches than their actual height

11 years ago as a senior Bowen was only 6’4, so he grew an inch after age 22? maybe.

Brenda 5’3”, Maggie 5’7”, Jenna/Jewel/Juliette/Ryann all sub 5’7” (which @jeff has called maybe the best women’s NCAA attacker lineup ever)

Height helps a bit. But not remotely as much as in basketball or volleyball or pitching or boxing or rowing.

I guess I’ve been living on a different planet. Apparently, most successful water polo players on the men’s side are below 6’ and for women below 5’7" - height is clearly a detriment to water polo success. Good luck at the Olympics against Croatia, who has had no success on the international stage, where they’ve hampered themselves with an average height of 6’6" (of course subtracting 2-4" which, of course, is de rigueur)…

I know that this is a California sport, but this Boston fellow cannot abide by this tomfoolery…

This is not a post to diminish the accomplishments, which are spectacular, of the Cutino Award winners who I’m more than happy to celebrate - however, there is a reason why our daughters and sons are not ballerinas or gymnasts…

I guess I was wrong. Maybe my kids need to find a different sport. I apologize for voicing a different view point.
